Millennium Development Goals

 

  In September 2000, 197 member states of the United Nations, including Switzerland, adopted the UN Millennium Declaration. The goal is to halve global poverty by 2015. he means to achieve this are eight verifiable development goals (Millennium Development Goals, MDGs). These include, among others, universal primary education, reducing child and maternal mortality, combating HIV/Aids and other diseases, as well as a sustainable environmental policy and developing a global partnership for development.
